Saturday - December 14, 2013

Sometimes it is all about being in the right place at the right time.  Went out looking to take some eagle photos but clouds moved in about dusk.  Waited a few minutes and got this one instead.  I would say, worth the wait.

Happy Independence Day!!

Tried a different technique with fireworks last night.  Really like the looks of what I'm seeing initially.

Finally completed editing of the my photographs from the Smoky Mountain Photography Workshop that I attended earlier this month.

Feedback is much appreciated.  I have uploaded 72 images from the week.  Some are just to take a look at and say do I like the smooth flowing water in the stream or do I like the rough uneven water in the waterfall or stream.

For example these are basically the same image the only differences are noted below.

f 8.0 - 1/30 Second

f 8.0 - 1/20th Second

Would really like to go back again and photograph this beautiful area with the knowledge that I learned in this workshop.  Great instructor, thanks again to Richard Bernanbe.  http://www.richardbernabe.com/

Just got back from a wonderful workshop with Richard Bernabe in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.  Learned so much, hopefully can apply it to make my photos better.  Stayed for one extra sunrise before I left, so glad that I did.

Tractor Pull

Went looking for something to take photos of today.  Found the Prairie Tractor Pullers Spring Event going on at the fairgrounds inside of a building.  A pit pass later, and almost getting thrown out because the photographer for the event had lens envey, it was interesting to see what a modified lawn mower was capable of pulling.

Is it Spring Yet??

Today felt like spring outside, but we are still in winter.  The sunshine today brought with it the long winter shadows.  This weekend, the forecast is for rain and more rain.  We need the moisture to make up for last year.  I guess better now than in spring when the farmers need to get into the fields to plant.
